Important Update:
2025-2026 FAFSA Opening Delayed

Due to the implementation of the FAFSA Simplification Act, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2025-2026 academic year will open later than usual. The new opening date is December 2024, rather than the traditional date of October 1.

This delay is part of ongoing efforts to simplify and improve the FAFSA process, making it more streamlined and accessible for students.

What does this mean for you?

Application Period: The 2025-2026 FAFSA will become available in December 2024.

Early Preparation: Students are encouraged to start gathering necessary documents early, such as tax returns and financial records, to ensure a smooth application process when the new FAFSA opens.

How to Apply for Financial Aid

To apply for financial aid please complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid at: www.studentaid.gov. Compton College's school code is: 042817

Undocumented/Dreamer Student should complete the California Dream Act Application and use school code: 04281700

All students are encouraged to apply for financial aid, even if you don't think you will qualify. If you think you need help paying for fees, books and other expenses, you should apply. Citizens and eligible non-citizens can complete the FAFSA, while other non-citizens can complete the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) instead.
