ADMINISTRATION
Darlene Zarazu, Director of Educational Partnerships

We are excited to have Darlene Zarazu continue her leadership journey here at Compton Community College. Darlene is an accomplished educational leader with extensive experience in higher education, student success, and community engagement. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership and holds a Master of Education in Educational Counseling.
In her role as Interim Director of Educational Partnerships at Compton College, Darlene has led outreach programs, developed educational pathways, and built strong partnerships to enhance student success. Her expertise in admissions, recruitment, and diversity initiatives, along with her passion for student-centered work, will be a tremendous asset to our team.
As a Latina, first-generation woman with a decade of experience in the community college sector, Darlene is deeply committed to advancing equity and student success in higher education. Her professional goal is to become a community college president and continue growing as a leader. She aims to use her role as Director of Educational Partnerships to create transformative programs and strengthen partnerships that serve underrepresented communities.
Fun Fact: Darlene enjoys exploring international destinations and plans to visit Disneyland parks in Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong in June 2025 with her mother, marking their first visit together. Traveling helps her expand her global perspective
CLASSIFIED PROFESSIONALS
Toishia Dockins, Records Specialist

We are excited to welcome Toishia Dockins to her new role at Compton Community College! Toishia holds a Master’s degree in Enrollment Management and brings a diverse skill set along with extensive experience in academic administration. With a strong background in data entry, student records management, and system database knowledge, she has worked with various platforms such as Ellucian/Colleague, PeopleSoft, and Canvas. Toishia has a proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments, support student services, and manage day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth workflows and compliance with university policies.
With exceptional customer service experience and a strong commitment to organizational goals, Toishia is poised to make a significant impact in this role. We look forward to the contributions she will bring to our team.
Fun Fact: Toishia has a personal goal to travel to Africa.
Danielle Falcon, Accountant

We are excited to welcome Danielle Falcon to her new role at Compton Community College! Danielle is a highly skilled accounting professional with over five years of experience in accounts payable, payroll administration, and scholarship distribution. In her previous role as Manager of Finance and Accounting at the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, she managed financial processes, including payroll, accounts payable, and scholarship disbursements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with audit standards.
Danielle has demonstrated expertise in collaborating with cross-functional teams to prepare department budgets and resolve financial discrepancies. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Accounting with a focus on Taxation. With her solid background in accounting software, financial reporting, and data analysis, Danielle is well-equipped to make significant contributions to our team. We are thrilled to have her on board!
Fun fact: Danielle loves crafting, especially fiber arts (knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, etc.), and enjoys gifting her homemade creations to loved ones. She is currently learning how to use vinyl and laser engravers.
Lashone Gaston, Permanent/Part Time Cook

We are excited to welcome Lashone Gaston to her new role at Compton Community College! Lashone is a highly skilled culinary professional with over 20 years of experience, most recently serving as Lead Chef at Montessori Schools of Irvine, where she managed culinary operations for over 800 students across multiple campuses.Lashone is adept at overseeing all aspects of food service, including menu planning, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. She has a strong background in creating diverse, nutritious menus while maintaining cost efficiency and minimizing waste. Lashone’s leadership also extends to staff training and fostering a collaborative, inclusive kitchen environment.
With her extensive experience and passion for culinary excellence, Lashone is sure to make a significant impact on our team, and we are thrilled to have her on board!
Fun Fact: Lashone loves to cook, enjoys hiking, camping, and sightseeing. She is also very active in her church, where she sings and helps organize the entire program. Additionally, Lashone has a passion for plants and enjoys watching a good comedy show.
Jason Malonzo, Records Specialist

We are excited to welcome Jason Malonzo to his new role at Compton Community College! Jason holds a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from California State University, Los Angeles. He brings extensive experience working with students in K-12 settings, having previously served as a teacher across multiple grade levels. During his tenure, Jason became highly skilled in curriculum planning, instructional methodology, and classroom management.
In addition to his teaching role, Jason held various other positions, including serving on the school accreditation leadership team, acting as athletic director, and coaching basketball. After a decade in the classroom, he has transitioned to higher education to help students achieve their educational goals and is eager to continue his service in education in this new setting.
Fun Fact: Jason’s favorite sport is basketball, and one of his most cherished memories is coaching his middle school girls' team to a league championship.
Daniel Miranda, Administrative Assistant
We are excited to welcome Daniel Miranda to his new role at Compton Community College! Daniel is a dedicated and detail-oriented administrative professional with extensive experience in higher education. He has held various roles at Compton College and UC Riverside, where he supported departments with data entry, event coordination, record-keeping, and customer service. Daniel has also developed strong technical skills, including office equipment troubleshooting, and is proficient in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Zoom. His background includes assisting with program development, managing communications, and supporting program improvements. Daniel's commitment to excellence and strong organizational skills will make him a valuable asset to our team, and we look forward to seeing how his contributions will enhance our operations at Compton College. We are thrilled to have him on board!
Fun fact: Daniel loves the beach, and his areas of expertise include student and administrative services.
