James Bates, Helpdesk Technician

We are excited to welcome James Bates as the newest member of our Helpdesk Technician team. James brings a diverse background in IT support, compliance, and technical troubleshooting. He recently served as a Compliance Navigator at Islandpitch.com, where he supported regulatory alignment and documentation efforts across various projects. His previous experience also includes roles as a Wireless Security Auditor with System One Holdings and a Print Operator with Goodwill Industries. Additionally, James served in the U.S. Army as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic, where he maintained critical equipment and developed advanced problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.
James holds the Google IT Support Professional Certificate and the Ethical Hacking Essentials credential from EC-Council. Bilingual in English and Spanish, he is proficient with Microsoft, Apple, and Linux platforms and brings strong communication and customer service skills to his new role.
Fun Fact: James is especially proud of earning his suite of IT certifications and is excited to apply his knowledge and passion for technology to support the Compton Community College District.
Frederick Rose, Research Analyst

We are excited to welcome Frederick Rose to Compton Community College District as our new Research Analyst. Frederick has over a decade of experience in research coordination, data analysis, and public health, most recently serving as Research Operations Coordinator at Cal State Fullerton’s Social Science Research Center. He has led numerous large-scale, multi-year research projects in areas such as community college student outcomes, public transportation, affordable housing, and environmental health. Frederick holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from California State University, Fullerton, where he was recognized as the Health Science Outstanding Graduate Student. Fluent in Spanish and highly skilled in research planning, survey development, data management, and cross-agency collaboration, Frederick is a valuable addition to our Institutional Effectiveness team.
Fun Fact: As a researcher for over a decade, Frederick has worked on more than one hundred projects in the fields of social science and public health. He hopes to apply the skills he has gained throughout his career to provide Compton Community College District with the full range of his expertise, while continuing to grow and contribute to the success of the campus community.
