The Compton Community College District (CCCD) recently welcomed the following full-time

CLASSIFIED PROFESSIONALS
Richard Cuellar, Student Services Advisor
We are excited to welcome Richard Cuellar to his new role at Compton Community College!
Richard holds a Master of Science in Higher Education from California State University,
Fullerton. With a strong background in student support and equity, Richard has most
recently served as a Provisional Program Technician at Compton College, where he assisted
formerly incarcerated students with their academic and career goals. He also brings
valuable experience in administrative support, event planning, and student advisement
from his time at Mt. San Antonio College and California State University, Fullerton.
Richard’s expertise in program development, research, and student leadership, coupled
with his certifications in Diversity and Equity, make him an excellent addition to
our team. We look forward to the positive contributions and impact he will bring to
our programs.
Fun Fact: Richard enjoys watching sports and playing golf.
Jose Javier Carlos, Student Services Advisor
We are excited to welcome Juan Carlos to our team. Juan Carlos brings a wealth of
experience in academic advising and student support. He previously served as a College
Adviser with the University of Southern California College Advising Corps, where he
guided students through the college application process and supported their academic
goals. Additionally, Juan Carlos has worked as an Early College Initiatives Mentor
at Long Beach City College, a Peer Academic Coach at CSULB, and an AVID Tutor at Ocean
View High School, providing mentorship and academic support to students. He has also
demonstrated leadership as a member of the Board of Directors for the Association
of Students Incorporated at CSULB and as part of various committees aimed at improving
student engagement and success. Juan Carlos' diverse experience and passion for supporting
students will be a tremendous asset to our team, and we look forward to his contributions.
Fun Fact: Juan Carlos has two cats named Michael and Pablo, and one named Meow-Meow!
Renee Madrid, Event Coordinator/Scheduler
We are excited to welcome Renee Madrid to her new role at Compton Community College!
Renee brings a wealth of experience in event coordination, administrative support,
and leadership. She has successfully managed facility rentals, contracts, and special
events at Compton Community College District and has also gained valuable experience
as an Account Clerk overseeing procurement and auxiliary services. Renee holds dual
Bachelor’s degrees in International Business and Marketing, with a minor in Japanese,
from California State University, Long Beach. Renee’s proven ability to lead and manage
projects, we are confident that she will make significant contributions to our team
and organization.
Fun fact: Renee aspires to create a community farm that encourages knowledge-sharing, fresh
produce cultivation, and community engagement. She is passionate about volunteering
with hospice patients, advocating for human rights, and tackling environmental issues.
In her spare time, Renee enjoys kayaking, traveling, and expressing her creativity
through painting and preparing meals for her loved ones.
Patricia Mendoza, Categorically Funded Program Technician
We are excited to welcome Patricia Mendoza to her new role at Compton Community College!
Patricia brings a diverse skill set and extensive experience, including strong organizational,
customer service, and problem-solving abilities. She has been serving as a Program
Technician at Compton College, where she provides administrative support, manages
appointment scheduling, assists with special projects, and fosters a positive work
environment. Patricia’s background also includes valuable experience as a Student
Assistant, where she coordinated student events and provided support to both staff
and students. Fluent in Spanish, she possesses excellent communication skills and
is trained in First Aid/CPR. With her dedication and strong work ethic, we are confident
that Patricia will make a significant contribution to our team.
Fun Fact: Patricia cherishes the moments spent with her beloved twins, and they enjoy walking
along the beach together. She has a passion for travel, as it allows her to explore
new cultures and meet people. Patricia especially loves visiting art museums and historical
landmarks wherever she goes.
Our new team members bring extensive knowledge and professional experience and they
are excited to join Compton College in its dedication to providing high-quality educational
programs that contribute to student success.
