Peer Review Team Report
This report represents the findings of the Peer Review Team that conducted a focused site visit to Compton College from February 20 - 21, 2024. The Commission acted on the accredited status of the institution during its June 2024 meeting and this team report must be reviewed in conjunction with the Commission’s Action letter.
2023 Institutional Self-Evaluation Report (ISER) Review Cycle
Compton College is preparing for the next accreditation cycle, following a timeline for the 2023 Institutional Self-Evaluation Report (ISER).
Compton College Institutional Self-Evlauation Timeline, 2022-2024The self-evaluation process follows a six-year cycle and gives the district an opportunity to reflect on the college’s current institutional conditions, achievements, and goals, and to thoroughly examine the quality and effectiveness of programs, services, and operations.
The ISER represents the collective efforts of the campus community, including faculty, classified professionals, administrators, and students. The campus community had the opportunity to provide feedback through an online form, and that input was incorporated into the final version.

Key Events
- July 18, 2023: The Compton Community College Board of Trustees approved the ISER.
- July 27, 2023: The ISER was submitted to the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges
(ACCJC).
- October 16, 2023: A Meet and Greet with the ACCJC Accreditation Team will be conducted via Zoom at 10 a.m. (by invite only)
- October 17, 2023: An Open Forum will be conducted via Zoom at 10 a.m. (Meeting ID: 822 2946 0212)
- February 20-21, 2024: Focused Site Visit
- February 20, 2024: Open Forum in AHB 119 at 2:30 p.m.
- February 21, 2024: Exit Report in AHB 119 at 11:00 a.m.
Third-Party Comment
You may also provide a third-party comment directly to the ACCJC. A third-party comment
assists the Commission as it considers applications for candidacy, accreditation,
or reaffirmation of accreditation. When an institution is undergoing a review, the
Commission requires the institution’s chief executive officer to notify the campus
community and public of the opportunity for submission of third-party comments and
the process for doing so. Any member of the college community or public may submit
a third-party comment by completing the Commission’s online third-party comment form,
available via the institution’s website or ACCJC’s website. In order to ensure evaluation
of applicable third-party comments by the peer review team, third-party comments should
be received by the Commission staff no later than five weeks before the peer review
team visit. Institutions will be provided an opportunity to review applicable third-party
comments.

Accreditation Community Engagement Activities
Compton College hosted a campuswide Accreditation Workshop on Thursday, June 3, 2021. The purpose of this event was to share knowledge with the campus community about the ACCJC standards and upcoming accreditation efforts including the 2023 ISER.
