2024 Measure CC Facilties Bond
The Compton Community College District is committed to serving the community, ensuring
students have access to the skills they need for well-paying jobs or successful transfer
to four-year institutions. A thorough assessment of the educational facility needs
of Compton College revealed that modern and secure facilities, along with technologically
advanced classrooms, are essential.
Measure CC – a $200 million facilities bond – will be on the upcoming November 5 ballot.
Designed to fund critical building improvements and replacements, safety additions,
and classroom technology upgrades at Compton College, bond funds will also support
energy-efficient enhancements, saving costs and reducing energy consumption. For property
owners, the annual cost of Measure CC will be $20 per $100,000 of assessed property
value (not market value) while bonds are outstanding.
Compton College is a valuable community resource, providing essential job training
and workforce preparation to students of all ages who have the opportunity to earn
college credits, certifications, and valuable job skills at an affordable price.
Voters in the Compton Community College District include residents of Compton, Lynwood,
Paramount and Willowbrook, as well as portions of Athens, Bellflower, Carson, Downey,
Dominguez, Lakewood, Long Beach, and South Gate. State law requires a 55 percent majority
for the measure to pass.
