President/CEO Closing the Loop

A mentioned in the President/CEO Message - October 12, 2020, we are currently in the final stages of the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office's evaluation of the financial health of Compton CCD. As part of this review, I mentioned to the Fiscal Crisis Management Assistance Team (FCMAT) today that we will develop a plan to address the conclusion of Compton CCD's Full-Time Equivalent Students Hold Harmless Provision, after the 2025-2026 year. I will be asking the Planning and Budget Committee to provide recommendations and to review the finalized plan. My goal is for the plan to be developed during the 2021-2022 year. Future President/CEO Messages will include more information on the Conclusion of Compton CCD's Full-Time Equivalent Students Hold Harmless Provision Plan.

Final Thoughts

Just a reminder, the Center for Organizational Responsibility and Advancement (CORA), African American Male Education Network & Development (A2MEND), and the #EquityAvengers are hosting a free webinar, Sounding the Alarm: Addressing the Declining Representation of Black Students in California's Community Colleges. The webinar will address the declining enrollment of Black students due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Leading scholars, practitioners, and policy advocates, including myself, will discuss what needs to be done to address this pressing concern. This webinar will take place on September 1, 2021, from noon to 2:00 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time). Click this link to Register for FREE.

In closing, please be safe and have a wonderful week.
