The Student Equity committee was assisted by Institutional Effectiveness in collecting and analyzing student success data disaggregated by ethnicity, gender, disability, foster youth, veteran status, and economic standing to identify areas of need. Data and target goals were shared campus-wide to increase awareness of where the college has opportunities to improve.

The 2019-22 Student Equity Plan expands and builds upon benchmark programs.  Some of the programs such as the STEM Center and the Student Success Center will continue to provide academic services focused on increasing success rates and retention.   The Equity Plan supports college tours and on-campus events to introduce and encourage transfer options. Counseling and advising staff, through the Guided Pathways framework, provide individual and group guidance to help students reach educational goals. Professional development is incorporated as well, to develop a college culture of culturally responsive teaching and service.
