Compton College COVID-19 Vaccine Incentive FAQ

In order to promote the health, safety and well-being of faculty, staff, students and the surrounding community, Compton College is offering a one-time incentive to fully-vaccinated students.

All students enrolled in in-person on-campus classes are required to be fully vaccinated or will need to provide a qualifying exemption based on medical or religious grounds.

Proof of full vaccination status or an approved exemption/accomodation is required for registration in in-person classes.

  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination Status must be submitted via the MyCompton portal, using the tile labled "COVID-19 Vaccination - Exemption - Test Submission."
  • Please note: Verification may take 1-3 business days.


Compton CCD Resolution No. #08-17-2021A states: person is considered 'fully" vaccinated when two weeks have passed since they completed a COVID-19 vaccine series (for example, 1 dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine, or 2 doses within no more than 12 weeks of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine).

You will be prohibited from registering for in-person on-campus classes.

Students who have not submitted proof of full vaccination status or who do not have an approved exemption/accommodation will not be allowed to use Add Codes.

The Compton College Community District only allows for exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccination requirement based on a medical exemption, disability accommodation, or sincerely held religious belief. Students seeking an exemption are required to complete and submit the appropriate forms to Human Resources. All exemption requests will be subject to review and approval.

You will receive TWO automated emails.

  1. You will receive an email upon successful submission (upload) of your proof of vaccination status or exemption/accommodation request.
  2. A second email will be sent upon verification or approval of your proof vaccination status and/or approved exemption/accomodation.

Currently, any student enrolled at Compton College, who is fully vaccinated and submitted their proof of vaccination status is eligible to receive the one-time incentive upon verification.

Students must remain in good standing and complete 50% of the term/semester.

There is no minimum or maximum number of units you must be enrolled in.

Students who submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status are eligible to receive the one-time incentive of $350 from Compton College upon verification.

You must have received all qualifying doses of the COVID-19 vaccine AND submitted your proof of full vaccination via the MyCompton portal using the tile labeled "COVID-19 Vaccination - Exemption - Test Submission."

Qualifying  students will receive the one-time incentive midway through the term.

Students must remain in good standing and complete 50% of the term/semester.

All students receive a one-time disbursement.

You must choose how you want to receive your refund:

  1. Deposit to an existing account,
  2. Deposit to a Bankmobile Vibe checking account,
  3. Request a paper check.*

Note: Checks will be mailed to the address on file in Admissions & Records. If your address has changed, please update your address in MyCompton or complete a Change of Address Form and email it to the Admission & Records Office (admissions@compton.edu) using your @compton.edu email.

 

Students can call the St. John's Student Health Center on campus at (213) 640-8100 to make an appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccination for FREE.
