The Compton Community College District Board meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month and are open to the public.

Closed session begins at 4:00 p.m. for anyone wishing to address the Board on closed session agenda items; open session begins at 5:00 p.m. The Board Meeting Agenda is posted on this site 72 hours in advance of each meeting.

Notice About Public Participation and Public Comment at CCCD Board Meetings

To reduce the potential impact and spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Compton Community College District Board of Trustees meetings are streamed live via the internet using the free Zoom conferencing app as allowed by Assembly Bill No. 361 and subsequent Executive Oder N-15-21 - which authorizes new changes to the Brown Act effective October 1, 2021. Consistent with the amendments to the Brown Act, the above-noticed meetings of the Compton Community College District Board of Trustees shall take place as follows unless otherwise noted:

  1. PARTICIPATION: Members of the Board of Trustees and the public may participate remotely by using the Zoom meeting link and phone numbers provided.
  2. PUBLIC COMMENT: Members of the public wishing to provide public comment on closed session items, open session items, and those items NOT on the agenda that are within the jurisdiction of the Board of Trustees, may do so in real-time.
    If you have connect to the meeting using Zoom, please use the "Chat" function. If you call into the meeting, please dial *9 to let staff know you wish to comment. Public comment will be accepted up until the Board President calls for a motion on the board item being addressed.
  3. PROTOCOL/PROCEDURES FOR PUBLIC COMMENT: Members of the public, we ask that you follow the instructions as noted below.

IF YOU ZOOM

    • Please use the "Chat" function in Zoom.
    • Indicate which item you wish to address or if you wish to make a general comment on a matter within the Board’s subject-matter jurisdiction under "Items Not on the Agenda" sections at the beginning or end of the agenda.
    • EXAMPLE: "I would like to Request to Speak on Item ____________."

IF YOU CALL-IN

    • Please dial *9 to let staff know you wish to make a comment.

4. PROCESS: The Compton CCD Board President, with the assistance of District staff, will call on members of the audience that have requested to speak at the appropriate time; the moderator will allow you to speak by activating the function, and members of the audience will be able to make their comments.

NOTE: Time limits of Board Policy 2350 per speaker (3 minutes) and per agenda item/topic (30 minutes) will apply unless extended as provided in Compton CCD Board Policy 2350 - Public Participation.

The District will NO LONGER read emailed public comments aloud during the meeting.

Individuals desiring to provide public comment through the use of an internet website, or other online platform, not under the District's control, that requires registration to log-in into a teleconference may be required to register by the third-party internet website or online platform to participate.
