The Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program strives to support Compton College students in meeting their academic goals by providing peer facilitated group study sessions to enhance student understanding of course content and expose students to the study skills needed to become independent learners.
To increase student retention and success rates for courses at Compton College supported with SI.
SI sessions are interactive review sessions that incorporate course content and study strategies. SI sessions are facilitated by SI Coaches who serve as â€˜near peersâ€™ to the students in class, modeling good student behavior. During SI sessions coaches act as facilitators, moderating students, as they work in groups, to support further retention and understanding of the course content delivered in class.
