El Camino College/Compton College Transition

The El Camino College/Compton College Transition Committee continues its progress on implementation of items cited in the updated Partnership Transition Plan, which is an internal planning document for the El Camino College/Compton College Transition. The next El Camino College/Compton College Transition committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. in the Compton College Boardroom.

The Compton College Ellucian Banner Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system went live on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019. The updated Compton College Ellucian Banner ERP system implementation timeline is available here.

The budget for the transition is also available online here, and is consistent with the Fiscal Crisis Management Assistance Team's report completed on May 16, 2017. The Compton Community College District is working on a proposal to the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office to modify the transition budget by reducing the budget for the Compton College staffing for Information Technology Department and increasing the budget to cover the additional ERP cost.

For more information on the El Camino College/Compton College Transition, please visit our transition webpage at www.compton.edu/compton114.

Students' Authorization and Consent to Release Educational Records

Current Compton College students were sent an email asking them to submit an online Release Form allowing El Camino College to transfer educational and student records to the Admissions and Records Office at Compton College. The release form will allow El Camino College to transfer our students' records directly to Compton College without requesting a transcript.

By submitting the release form, students will not have to re-apply to Compton College in order to continue taking classes on this campus. Compton College counselors and the Admissions and Records Office will have access to their academic history, making it easier to assist students as they progress through their academic program.

It is imperative that students submit this form as soon as possible. The second transfer of records will take place on February 11, 2019. The students' records will be uploaded into our new Banner Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System. By submitting the Release Form, students will officially be students of Compton College and will receive registration appointments for summer 2019 and fall 2019 through Banner.

The form is available online here, and paper forms are available in the Admissions and Records Office at both Compton College and El Camino College. If a student has already submitted the request form, they do not need to do anything else at this time.

Student questions may be directed to the Compton College Admissions and Records Office or via email to admissions@compton.edu.

Thank you for your assistance in urging students to complete the form online or in-person while they are here for the winter 2019 term. The January 2019 Tartar Message sent to students is available online here.
