First, I want to apologize while drafting this email communication, Kamilo Ali Curry entered my office, and he accidentally hit the send button before I completed the update. Now, I want to provide you with an update on Compton College in terms of COVID-19. As of Thursday, April 23, 2020, there are a total of 39,254 positive cases and 1,562 deaths in California. For more information, go to https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/Immunization/ncov2019.aspx.
Compton College remains operating at Level Four - Severe Infection Rate, according to the Compton CCD Pandemic Outbreak - Emergency Operations Plan. The Compton College Pandemic Coordinators and members of the President/CEO Cabinet met this week, and below are current updates.
Compton College Essential Employees
Compton College remains closed to visitors and the general public. The updated schedule for essential employees is available online here. To protect our community and slow the spread of COVID-19, all essential employees and individuals scheduled to be on campus must wear a face covering and gloves while at Compton College.
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance Program Application
The Compton College FEMA's Public Assistance Program Application has been submitted, and the Pandemic Coordinators are exploring all options for federal reimbursements for the implementation of the Compton CCD Pandemic Outbreak - Emergency Operations Plan. At the April 21, 2020 Compton Community College District Board of Trustees' meeting, I approved the FEMA Application - Filing of Cal OES 130 and the Cal OES 130SA forms. These forms are required for federal reimbursements through FEMA.
