Compton College COVID-19 Updates
Reminder, please visit the Compton College COVID-19 webpage here for updates. The webpage also provides information for students, faculty, Classified staff, and managers who are not feeling well and who are experiencing the following symptoms - a fever, cough, or shortness of breath.
If you are experiencing distress or anxiety due to the current circumstances, please contact the Employee Assistance Program at (800) 531-0200. We will continue to work through many issues and concerns as it relates to COVID-19.
In the Compton College COVID-19 Update - April 15, 2020, I shared my concerns about the fiscal health of our state, county, and Compton Community College District due to COVID-19, so you have a better understanding of future financial decisions for our campus. The 2020-2021 Compton Community College District Budget Assumptions are available here. We anticipate having to revise our 2020-2021 Compton Community College District Budget Assumptions after receiving the Governor's May Revise Budget. The fiscal impact of the COVID-19 to community colleges is unknown. In the coming weeks, we are hopeful of receiving more information to assist us with our financial planning for the 2020-2021 year.
As some of you are aware, I currently serve as the chair for the California Community College Athletic Association. This is my third and final year serving in this position, and there are many unknowns as it relates to community college athletics. At this time, no decisions have been made regarding the 2020-2021 year, however many of our student-athletes are concerned whether they be able to participate in their sport's upcoming season. At this moment, the answer is unknown.
As we deal with the impact of COVID-19, there will be many unanswered questions and new concerns. If you think of items that you feel I need to be aware of due to COVID-19, please forward them to me. Your input or recommendations are welcome.
